I`ve had food from bakeries on holiday in France, Greece and Spain and they all p!55 on the likes of greggs.

Ahh but independant bakers here are scrummy!!!(I work in a bakers & butchers)

I mean a proper baker, who bakes cakes and bread on site.

Not Greggs and the likes who get the stuff in frozen and cook it.

Big difference between cooking and baking IMO.

I've not lived near Greggs before, so am fairly new to them. Got a BOGOF voucher the other day for their Festive Slice.

£1.09 for one, BOGOF voucher means they were 54½p each.

Passable .... and at 54½p I'd certainly consider having one again.

If you have a half hour for lunch and want something hot you don't always get a choice of where you have access to that's cheap, so Greggs does the trick for many hard working people. In a lot of jobs there isn't even anywhere to sit at lunchtime, so there you are, out on the streets and you have to find, buy and eat food and get back to your desk within 30 minutes .... if you have a Greggs nearby then why not.

When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

I like the greggs steak bakes but half the time they are cold why can't they have proper ovens like other bake shops:question:

Those sausage rolls are nice as a treat - but I'm sure they're 78p down here!

I don't think there's a single branch of Greggs within 40 miles of where I live. We used to have a Baker's Oven but it closed down years ago. I occasionally have to go to Birkenhead where I think there are several Greggs but when I'm there I always opt for the £1 chicken burger from the nearby Longton Hall Farm shop which is without doubt the best hot lunchtime snack on the market.
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
