  • I quite like the charging rent idea!!! :rotfl:

When I rented my first flat they changed the sign to "let" quite quickly, but then didnt remove it for two months. When I rung up and asked them to pick it up it was exchanged the next day by a "for sale" sign.
My letter of notice to leave arrived a month later

They are much easier to wrap if you sell them in pairs.

Why all the fuss? Just take it down and tell them to collect. Inform them you will bin it if not collected in 28days... unless of course you want your neighbours to know you've moved in and all...

Can I ask if this is applicable to a property next door to me. I ask as my next door neighbour has their property rented from mischa and co and the board has been up weeks and it has let by. It is also attached to my property, I asked them to take it down as it shouldn't be attached to my property, they said a week. I said 24 hours, they didn't come, so took it down. The clowns put it back up yesterday, again attaching to my property post and further damaged the post.

I am intending to take it down again, but I fear they will put it straight back up again further damaging my post on my property as they can't attach their damn board on the property they let as there is nothing but concrete on the front.

    Thanks

They have NO RIGHT to attach it to your property. Just take it off and dispose of it however you want.

Personally I would take it round to their branch and dump it on the floor or on the pavement outside.

Then tell them that you will report them to the Police for criminal damage.

Similar to a previous response, I became so fed up with the sold board not being removed I actually did send an invoice stating the time I had been advertising the EA via their board and charging £2.50 per week. I requested payment within ten days of receipt of the invoice. The day the invoice was received by the company I was contacted and the board was collected two days later. They did find it quite amusing but it did work.

I just want to say thanks for the advice on this board.

My issue with the estate agent board might finally be over. I managed to get hold of the manager of the estate agent and he was quick to say he will remove said estate agent board within 24 hours and even said he will come by to see the damage done.

I'll hope it happens, but maybe, just maybe a good sign.

It does appears, stating trading standards and planning application rules, that you will complain to the council and trading standards, makes them pay attention
