Haggling on Price New Skoda Fabia Scout

Skoda dealers tend to be smaller and family run so IT system being down isnt a big issue. Sending it from his personal email may seem strange but I would put it down to good intentions rather than any alterior motive.
Fleet means 2+ at Skoda so I think in this case it would be retail route.0 -

I went in and the man offered me 2k for my car (54 plate, 115k miles, quite scratched) and said the OTR price of a Fabia Scout was £14540. I always have aircon and the price for that and parking sensors is £500 making it £15040 less 2k £13040. Now I got an email from the garage saying if I ordered it by end Nov they would give me 15% discount which brings it down again to £11084
Is that a good deal? Or should I ask for the aircon and parking sensors off too?
Why would you spend £11K on a Skoda.
I agree they are FAR better than they used to be, but c'mon.0 -
To confirm what's already been said, the 15% off is the minimum offer on at the moment - they knock off the equivalent of what VAT is on the list price. This offer goes on until March next year I think (may have to have it delivered by March).
There is room for negotiation on top of this. I'm looking at an Octavia vRS, and so have been doing a lot of research into how much other people have managed to get knocked off on top of the 15% offer - typically has been between an extra 3 and 5%.
The cheapest place to find one is via drivethedeal.com - they put you in touch with the dealer offering the cheapest price which for me is ~1K cheaper than the basic offer price from my local dealer.0 -

Why WOULDN'T you is a better question! A lot of people have badge snobbery when it comes to Skoda. I admit I used to be one of them until recently. Thousand's of pounds cheaper than Seat/VW/Audi equivalents, excellent build quality, rated most reliable European manufacturer somewhere I read. All parts from the same VAG family of cars - e.g. the Octavia vRS I'm looking at getting has a Golf GTi engine, and is one of the popular undercover police vehicle choices due to it's drive quality and performance.I'd much rather have the Skoda than spend 4-8K more on an equilavent specced VW/Audi.
Some models are less appealing to the eye than others, but that's down to personal taste.0
