The cost of windows needs to be factored in, if you need windows.0 -
That is correct, you have a choice of XP, Vista or windows 7
Xp home

but personally I would go Windows 7 home premium (has been beta for over a year so in fact very stable and fast even though its only just been released in full!)

To be fair, Linux suits me!
But, I don't think it suits everyone.
As a 2nd computer, I would look at places like Bigpockets. They offer ex-business machines, and they usually come with XP pro, which is usually adequate. It all depends on the use of the computer, as usual.0 -
Xp pro to buy is now around £90-£100 as its obsolete.
If you want a real internet browsing /word processing 2nd pc have a look at for £91 as it includes XP too

Can anyone tell me if the integrated graphics (Intel 3100 384MB GMA Graphics) will be ok for basic games. Kids play mostly internet based games but they have a few old sims and football manager games but they are not heavy gamers.
Thanks0 -
Its intel 3800 with 384 mb, so fine for internet/kids games.
If you wanted a cheap upgrade you could put this in which has a HDMI port for a large screen TV but i'd go with the onboard for your usage
