how to return my start menu to the bottom left

It sounds like you are now able to move it so it isn't locked in position (unlikely anyway as you'd moved it once).
Just left click on an empty area (probably in the middle somewhere) keep the mouse button down and drag the taskbar down to the bottom of the display0 -
I too was having facetious thoughts wondering what more we could say short of making you an instructional youtube video.....

ive got a box at the bottom left with time and date etc in the box. Then at the top left the start menu!:footie:0

My betting is "the bar will not follow the mouse" mentioned by phxwebcouk and not mentioned by anybody else was what caused the confusion once where needed to be clicked was cleared up.
The trouble with all this computer stuff is that it is dead obvious when you know how but completely mysterious when you don't if just minor details are missed from the instructions. That's why YouTube is so good even for trivial stuff.0 -
