Trying to cancel Vodafone

Hi everyone

I'm currently trying to cancel a Vodafone contract and sent an e-mail asking for the procedure to do this at the start of November. I'm coming to the end of a 12 month contract.

Vodafone e-mailed back within a few hours saying it would cost £240 to cancel (6 month's line rental). I e-mailed back saying I had a 12 month contract and received no response. I e-mailed again, and, 5 days after that I received an e-mail putting me to strict proof to show I had a 12 month contract.

Luckily I keep all paperwork, and I've e-mailed a copy of the customer agreement, on Monday, but have had no acknowledgement or response. I want to get a new contract (with a different provider), but can't afford 2 contracts whilst Vodafone um and er.

Has anyone else had experience of a problem like this, or any advice on how best to handle this?

Thanks in advance

Dan

Just call them (no email) and tell them you like don't like to renew as your contract is coming to an end. If they don't budge, send a recorded letter and cancel direct debit.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

Or go into a Voda store and get them to fax the doc's directly to someone while they have them on the phone.
  • Hi

    Thanks for replies!

I phoned today and have been informed that Vodafone aren't going to do anything. They've referred me back to the seller, and have said they fully intend to take the £240 regardless of my contract. I asked what was the point of my e-mailing to them, and the very nice customer services rep could not answer.

I've spoke to the seller who's paperwork states this is 12 months and they're trying to get in touch with vodafone for me. I was planning on getting a new vodafone contract but I'm not going to bother now. If they had told me on day 1 that I needed to contact the selller it wouldn't have been so bad (likewise acknowledging e-mails would be appreciated).

    I'll update if anything happens.
