This can be found in PS3 Network settings.0

On my original PS3 is is off by default if I remember correctly, unsure about the newer ones tbh. One of the recent firmware updates altered it too (again, may just have been on my original).......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple 0 0

Yeah I enabled the wifi and tried, it shows some signal strength of my wireless network as 32 and then it is saying again No Ethernet cable connected.0

As long as your wireless router is broadcasting, the PS3 will find it. All you have to is select it and enter your password - if you've got one for your wireless connection.
Ignore the No Ethernet message - this doesn't apply to wireless.0

Please read the following quote, from earlier in this thread, and stop giving the OP incorrect information.
If the security on your wireless router includes MAC filtering, the first thing you need to do is ascertain the PS3's own unique MAC ID and then add that to the permitted access list stored on your router.
Otherwise, no matter what settings you apply to the PS3, your router will not permit it to join your wireless network.

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

Who say's the information I gave is incorrect? You? - It's simplified, but not necessarily incorrect.

Your advice assumes everyone turns on MAC filtering on their router.0

I say. Because it is provably so.
I used the qualification "If". You didn't.
Your own advice assumes that nobody switches on MAC filtering in their router.
Which is obviously wrong. And the OP might (indeed, should) have done.
The imperative on MSE is not the preservation of people's egos, it is that the OP gets given the correct information and advice.
