Am struggling here to comprehend why your 'mate' would ask for a DNA, the female refused it but he still coughed up? As I said...more fool him...if he had doubts then he should have insisted on the CSA route...out of curiosity, how did this happy saga end? If she never got caught then presumably he is still paying CS? Or did for 18 years?

It seemed to me from Speedster's post that his "mate" had a similar experience to the NRP in the OP and had a drunken one night stand. He has every right to ask for a DNA test as he is the one paying for it (privately) ... then we get onto the whole new debate of whether the CSA should pay for any negative DNA test or in fact perhaps the man and/or woman who doesn't know who fathered her child.

i don't know what or where she is now. the mate in question is died in a motorbike accident a few years back.

Am sorry your friend died. It's a shame he never got to know for certain if the child was his. I firmly beleive that all kids should have 2 parents in their lives. I realise there are wicked women out there, I'm not that naive, but I also see that there are nasty men. It's a fcuked up world we live in sometimes

No, you're missing the point shell. Read the post again. I was struggling to see why he coughed up AFTER she refused a dna test which he quite rightly asked for. But as you can see, speedster has answered it.

his name was michael. no need to for the sarcasm with the "mate"

he was in a sort of relationship with her. unfortunately, she was sort of in a relationship with at least 2 other guys.

and like i said, csa invilvement would have been a whole lot more pricey for him/ this was before t'internet and the workings of the csa were known to most folk.

    "mate".

    same as caps= shouting.

highlighting words with " " is sarcasm or highlighting. no need to highlight the fact he was a mate.

I was simply using the same term as Loopy Girl as it was her post I was replying to. There was no underhand meaning meant in my post at all.
