    Hi debrag

If you run out of gas the red light will come on and the boiler will have to be reset the next time you top up the meter. Am not to sure about combi boilers I will ask my son when he comes home from work he is a plumber and fits combi boillers. He said yes that is right it will only fire up when you require hot water unless your heating is on. Do you have a timer for your boiler?
Your meter sounds the same as mine. The debt I have on my meter comes off on a wednesday so when I top it up on a thursday the debt is taken and the rest of the money is credited to my meter. I have got a system boiler which works different from yours. I still have a hot water tank to store my hot water. I have never checked to see how much it uses when my heating and hot water are on. I suppose all houses will differ as to how much it will cost to heat depending on size draughts ect.

but £14 has been take twice since Monday
  • Hi debrag it would depend when you put the money in the meter and when the debt is due to be taken. As i said mines is due to come out on a wednesday but i always top up the meter on a thursday so it takes the debt on the thursday.
lets say for instance your debt come off on a monday and u topped up on the monday it would take the debt but if for instance you did not top up again until the next again wednesday it would take the debt on the wednesday. if you don't put in enough to cover the debt on one top up it will take money of every top up you until the £15 has been recovered. You need to ask when the debt is due to come off and how much it is so you top up enough to cover the debt and leave you with a credit. soz if you dont understand this please ask me to explain anything you dont.

I have been told £15 could it be that only the emergency was used when put in last week, no actual credit was added?

So Monday I put £6 on my meter, now it's saying £0.48 for gas, emergency card ON, that can't be right.

Heating is on only at night (If I'm correct) 08:00-12:00 with clock using 12 hours not 24.

I shall now be turning everything off on boiler when no-one is home.

What..? Are you saying that you have the luxury of leaving the heating on when no one is home..?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

    Hi debrag

Yes if you dont pay the debt back one week it will keep taking the debt of every time you top up the meter. Try doing it the way I do (if you can afford it)
Put in a lump sum to cover the debt and leave you some crebit. You can always top up through the week if the meter is running low. Try not to use the emergancy as I am almost sure they charge you for using it. I hope this helps you. Anymore questions get intouch. Goodluck.

No, from what I gather from the timer thingy (which I have no clue about) the heating is set for 08:00 - 12:00 so comes on PM. It wasn't till yesterday that I notice some of the radiators where on during the afternoon so I turned the timer off and haven't put it back on yet.

I have been told £150 deposit per meter and £49.99 per meter. Would this be if I was to pay off the debt in full and get meters removed or pay debt off in full and keep meters?

This would be to remove the meters. You would have to pay the debt off first before they would remove the meters.

I know of no supplier that charges a customer more to use energy in emergency than in 'normal' credit, and will eat the hat of your choice if you find one that does.
You pay the price in your contract - maybe with a standing charge, maybe on two tiers, bit no extras for emergency.
