gas meter

So Monday I put £6 on my meter, now it's saying £0.48 for gas, emergency card ON, that can't be right.

Heating is on only at night (If I'm correct) 08:00-12:00 with clock using 12 hours not 24.

I shall now be turning everything off on boiler when no-one is home.

  • I don't know why this happens either. If I have used a bit of emergency and put money in, it says emergency is on, when I have put more than enough for the emergency and should be 2 or 3 quid in credit. If I then put a fiver in, it says £8 in credit. It may be to do with how it calculates it, but it drives me nuts, especially when I am rationing what I put in.

Are you paying off an outstanding debt, or have just moved into the properly where the previous tenant might have been?

I have been told that the debt will be £15 a week but hasn't been set up yet plus this is gas not electric.

    I didn't mention electric?

Maybe the debt to be taken has been set up already and that's why you are not getting the full amount of credit when you put it in?

yes after re-reading a message I have recieved it seems I am already paying back the gas debt but not the electric.

Will be paying the full debt off as soon as I find out wether I'll be charged the £150 deposits for both meters or not (as meters were installed to pay back debt)

I know you didn't mention electric just every thread I see seems to mention elec meter debt not gas

Oh how do I know if I'm single or 2 rate for electric?

Plus by paying debt off in full will I get refund for what has been taken from meter?

    My main question is:

£6 to £0.49 in 2 days, something has to be wrong? Think there is a boiler problem anyways as it keeps turning off (not ignited) but then heating still works, should it?

Do boilers ignite just when taps are turn on or heating is on? my boiler ignition light keeps going out but I'm getting hot water.

    Hi dedrag

If you run out of gas your boiler will turn itself off. When you top up your meter the boiler will have to be reset. What kind of boiler do you have?

It's a combi thing, will get name later lol. From what I've been told it turns itself on & off sort of when not being use i.e not using hot water etc.

Its mainly the amount being used.

    EDIT: Vaillant ecoTec Pro

    Green light = warmstart ON
Yellow light = Main burner ignited
Red light = boiler is locked out etc

Green light is only one on.
