Morning all
Well I am camped out on the couch again, don't think work were too happy when I told them though! It is such a busy time that I feel really guilty but I am just not fit to go in. Feel absolutely rubbish still_pale_
PippaS Happy Birthday:bdaycake:and to Moiliere's DIL too.
Diva - Hope you heard from Tris
Hester - hope you have a better day now the culprits have been duly chastised!
Kitchenbunny - its a case of me too! We could have chatted through the night if I knew someone else was awake!
Bitsy - What a thought provoking and emotional poem - Thank you
jc2703 - well done to your DS1 and good luck to DS2
Molly - Lucky DD she will have a great time!
It is my OH's birthday today too. He has gone off to do a 12 hour shift today so won't see much of it I am afraid. I shall have to try to shake this bug off a bit and do him a special tea to make up for it although I think that baking a cake might be beyond me today! I have some nice salmon that I have just taken out of the freezer so will see what I can find to go with it.
(((Hugs))) to anyone who feels poorly or down. Hope everyone has a good day

Morning All,
Huggles to all who are under the weather - there seems to be a lot of OSers come on people you should know about vitamin C better than anyone else!
So I went to speak to the head honcho here yesterday, because I noticed on the company intranet that there was no mention of an observed silence today for Armistice day, he told me he'd come back to me, he didn't so I chased and got his PA who told me that, and I quote, "people celebrate it on the Sunday so we won't be doing it". Number 1 it's hardly a celebration is it?! and number 2 what?!?!?!?! As mioliere said, the WW1 veterans have all passed on now so it's our duty to ensure that future generations don't forget isn't it? When I think of what my Grandfather went through in WWII to ensure the freedom of these idiots (who quite frankly shouldn't be in the job of CEO's PA if they're that dense) it makes my blood boil!
Thanks for the poems mioliere and Bitsy.
OS activity today - meal planning for the next fortnight, ironing and sewing up gloves (my nails always end up breaking up the end)
Have a lovely day all, OS or otherwise. Hugs all round xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,

Morning all - hope the snuggly days on the sofas are what the doctor ordered for the poorly ones!
Busy day today, going to see Mr T this morning when DD wakes from her nap (not that she's even asleep yet!!), then got some friends coming with their DD's (aged 18months) this afternoon. Wanted to try and fit in some ironing and bathroom cleaning too... Well, have cleaned downstairs loo and put a wash on already, does that count?!
Also want to finish my operation Christmas Child boxes today. I'm stuck as to the final bits as already have toys, gloves, sweets, balloons, pens, paper, flannel and soap. I'm hoping Mr T will have some inspiration for me. Perhaps a toothbrush and toothpaste? and some more toys?
Tea is going to be mac and cheese since its a busy day. But tomorrow I am doing beef caserole with dumplings. Can't decide whether to use the SC or my new caserole dish!
Have a good day all

Morning all:j
Oooooh its
Been at work last 2 days so not been on here. on Mon I had a horrendous migraine and should not have gone to work but as I am already on a level one warning for sickness and will be on level 2 if I am not 100% in my attendance in next 3 months I had to go:rolleyes:. Was not happy at all and had to cannulate patients when I couldnt even see properly and had to rush off several times to be sick. Was in bed at 7 30 that night:o
Some lovely words on here today re Armistace day....bitsy we did the war poets for our english o level ( many years ago:o).
Today I am battling in vain to get the washing up to date....the door broke on our dryer at the weekend and we can`t afford a new one so OH has tried to patch it up but it dries for 10 mins then door pops open.....hence the build up of washing while I have been at work...looked at getting a new door last night but even that is £50 we dont have:rolleyes:, am getting a bit peed off at the mo with the money situation and trying to get rid of all debts. It seems never ending and we never ever have any money to do anything or treat ourselves even to something small.
Enough of my moaning....there are people here with more to worry about than that.
Today I have some fish fillets and chicken fillets to cut into strips and make goujons with for DS and freeze them. I am making bacon, potato and tomato hotpot for OH and I. I am also going to do a mealplan and online shop for next week as cheaply as poss. I have a few things to sell on Ebay too so need to list them.
Thank god I have all my xmas shopping done or there would be no presents
. Just need DS`s PS3 and we have most of the money saved for that, £80 to go:rolleyes:. I have made a lot of the presents this year for teachers etc.
Well best heave my sorry butt off the sofa and get moving
to all feeling sad or poorly at the moment

I rang in sick this morning, but I only attend one lesson on Wednesday. Migraine still lurking and a funny sort of headache down the left temple. Weird.
DD rang at 9.40 and woke me up. Although she was ringing to get some things sent to Uni she was unusually chatty, so made the most of it. It's reading week so she has a bit more time. I was supposed to be seeing her but it didn't happen. Have worked out that ds will see her at an event at the end of November so he can take her stuff for her. Hope he doesn't get arrested carrying a bag of women's clothing LOL!
While I was awake I got up. Looked at the Flylady list and can't be bothered right now.Supposed to be collecting my wrinklies from the airport later, so will have to do something. Did a freezer dive for tonight, 2 boxes of cooked mince and veg, (will have mash and veg from fridge) , box of stewed apple and bag of crumbs for scandinavian apple pud. Pork Pie YS out for mum and dad for lunch and an odd pasty for ds for his lunch. 2 pts milk lurkikng there as well which will be used for custard.
need to sort the bread out and freeze some sandwiches before it goes off.
Have agood day all."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Good for you. Far more people should stick to their guns and push others to observe this important time IMO.
At my workplace I sometimes feel as if I am the only one with a conscience regarding Armistice Day although I have seen poppies in evidence . However , during a clearout last year we discovered a memorial to works personnel killed during WWII and this has now been restored and is to be rededicated later this month with members of the families in attendance. I suspect it will be a very emotional experience but one i shall be proud to be involved in.
Sorry if its turrned into a rant0 -
Good Morning all
Hope everyone took some time to think about those that lost their life in WW1. I visited the battlefields when I was about 15 and I don't think that experience will leave me until the day I join them. We shall never forget.
My friends Uncle passed away yesterday, he had very agressive cancer, they stoped the treatment about 8 weeks ago, he held on for a long time. She had a good cry on the phone last night, going to go round tonight for a cup of tea and a chat and a cuddle.
Hope everyone starts to feel better soon, loads of bugs doing the rounds.
Os wise today I shall be having left over gammon sarnies for lunch and baked pots for tea when I eventually get in
Take care everyone, have a great day xx0
