Apparently if you can spread a date between three venues, it will feel longer and more significant. (This is a theory I have heard that I think sounds like it would work...)

Zoo sounds good, unless the other person was very into animal rights.

Our "first date" was a wine-tasting hosted by a mutual acquaintance. To be fair, it wasn't a date as such, but a gentle nudge (oh alright, a ruddy big push) from said acquaintance, or we'd never have got around to getting together. (Both too shy).

Good luck, OP, and wherever you end up going, I hope you have a great time.

It depends on the person, I know that doesnt help lol

Me and OH had been introduced via email from a friend of ours, we had talked a few weeks via email and MSN

We live in Northumberland, and love the country so OH wanted to take me to the Lake District for the day

Not really the best place I guess if you have never met before lol but my best friend had known OH for 2 years so I knew he would be ok, and I kinda just knew from talking that he was the one.

He picked me up in his car and off we went, I knew as soon as I saw him he was the one and I was in love completely :)

We have been together nearly 3 years now, are engaged and are expecting our first baby in March :)

I like going to exhibitions or the theatre followed by lunch or dinner. I like doing that because I think you get more of an idea of what someone is like when you listen to them talking about something rather than talking about themselves.

Good point Hermia. Some people, especialy if they are doing a lot of internet dating, might have a spiel about themselves.
  • Me and the now OH went to Alton Towers on our first date! Bit risky - had been talking to him for a few weeks online then we met up at 8am in Sainsburys Car Park one Sunday morning and drove the 2 hour journey in his car - bit awkward at times as we'd never met but things couldn't be better now !

And Alton Towers has the benefit that you can chat in the queue but there is lots to talk about - plus if something is scary isn't it supposed to release the same chemicals as when you fall in love? Of course, you'd want to be similiarly brave... waiting around for someone else to go on lots of rides wouldn't be much fun. It would be the car journey there that might be the problem.

First date was meeting in the Trafford Centre & then an afternoon-long meal in La Tasca, second date was the cinema, third date was a rugby union match, fourth was a rugby league match and fifth was a weekend away staying in what was then the Crowne Plaza hotel in Edinburgh.

We go back to La Tasca for our anniversary meal every year :)

Going to sound like a bit of a tart here but....

Met OH at a nightclub in a town I had never been to (Aunty was living there & went to visit her).

First date, 2 weeks later he came to visit me. It is a 2 hour drive so he was staying over. Had home made lasagne & then went to the pub.

2nd date, the next weekend he came to visit again. Can't remember what we did.

3rd date, he was by chance getting based near me so he came the following weekend. Brought his things into the house so they were not in the car for the weekend....& he never left! It is now 12 years & 2 children later!
