haha I did the same today. Don't really use my landline except for 0845 calls, so I phoned them today and asked if they could remove the evening calls aspect, as this was added on when they renewed the contract. As I work most evenings, this is even less useful for me.

Got the same reply, that it was a bundled together deal for £8.

Fairly happy though anyway, but worth a try!

Interesting thread. I called BT last week about my contract which ends inFeb 2012 - I wanted to know what notice I needed to give as the 10Gb limit was too small for me and I didn't want to pay the huge hike to get the 40Gb package. I was transferred to the Customer Options Team and the guy there advise me to ring in Jan 2012 when a NEW option was coming into force - basically it was £13.25 for bb with 40Gb cap plus £4.90 anytime calls. This almost seems too good to be true but I'll call them in January and see what they say.

Let me clear a few things up.

Poppasmurf is on what we call a Boost4 promotion that no longer exists. His contracted plan is Broadband Option1 with the basic Weekend Plan, and is £5 for 18 months rising to £14.50 at month 18 where he will be up for renewal.

Line Rental as of 3rd December is £14.60. £8 is the lowest price you will get for BB Option 1.

You have been offered a save deal. If you have been told to call back then it is because you are currently not entitled to it, and providing it is still available at that time, which i assume it will be, by asking for it you should get it.

No, prices are variable not fixed, they can increase at any time during the minimum term-this is common to all telcom contracts, including BT.

I was about to ring them up until I read that.

Why then are they giving credits as happyflea's post above and Waldir's post 6 in this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/49896921#Comment_49896921
