You need to make your mind up.
One minute your trying DSR's then the next the fact they are not UK based,
Hate to break it to you but you have little chance of recovering this money. Contact Grant Thorton for advice as they will be able to tell you better of your rights and chance of a refund.
The stuff re the chargeback. You need to understand a chargeback isnt the same as the CCA always. What Maestro are saying is as part of Maestro T&C's were goods are not delivered your bank can enter a chargeback against the merchant. The merchant then needs to prove this wrong to counter the chargeback.
However Administration Law in the Uk and probably the same in Ireland puts a moratorium (freeze) on outstanding debts and I would suggest this will include any covered by chargebacks as that is simply contract law, not SOGA or CCA which would counter administration law.
Basically my understanding is you need to contact the liquidator and put in a claim as a creditor and hope they recover enough to give you your money (or most of it) back but very unlikely.0 -
Fair enough Anihilator, comments appreciated.
But if is was your money would you not also be pursuing every avenue possible to try and recoup it??
It is quite easy to comment that "you need to make your mind up", when you have not been directly impacted by the situation.
Yes, there might be little chance of recovering the money, but little chance is better than no chance, so it is pointless for someone to resign themselves to that just yet.Act your shoe size, not your age.;)0 -

I have just received the money back on my visa debit card, as I ordered a dyson from cdiscount, on the 20% discount day, good luck0

was that a visa electron debit card?0

I used a solo to purchase something from cdiscount, natwest pretty much told me they weren't interestsed, however they just upgraded my card to a visa! Bit bloody late I'm guessing it makes no difference now...
Is there anything I can try please?0
