Slow Start Up Acer Laptop

Hopefully someone can help me with this - it seems that my Acer 5610 (1gb of ram) now takes ages to boot up and to eventaully get onto IE. I was thinking that some proceses are running on boot up up that may not need to be - as the HDD flashes for ages on start up (as if its doing soemthing). Can somene take a look at my hijackthis log file and help out plese - Much appreciated...:j

I can offer no help, but yesterday my neighbour, an IT man, came and downloaded something for me and he too expressed the length of time it took to get started on my Acer (with the light flashing). He's coming back in a day or so to find out why, so I'll be watching your post with interest.

try downloading advanced system care free for windows, run the scans repair errors then in options check out your start up settings. There may be some you would want to turn off.

Run the HiJackThis.exe as an administrator in the right click menu.

Download superantispyware and malwarebytes and update them do full system scans and delete anything them pick up.

What a fiddle (in my opinion), I took in on board, did a scan, it found issues then said it would fix the first six for free, then they wanted money !!!!

no you must have downloaded the pro version, the free version doesnt do that lol, I have had it on my computer for months. When you open the interface, does it say advanced system care pro...it should say free :P

stick another 1gb ram in it and it should increase the performance as well as the usual malware/virus scans.

You do have a lot of things running though. You have AdAware, SpyBot's TeaTimer, an HP updater, some Creative Zen software, and a component of Realplayer for starters.

You could probably get rid of all of them at startup, and free up some resources. The corresponding programs will still work without sitting in your taskbar all day.
