They're both part of the same group, DSG.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • But Dixions is web only and part of the same company as Currys. That's what I'm wondering.

They won't match a web price-that's why they say 'retail store'. Otherwise PCW and Dixons would have to reduce everything to match Dixon's web prices.
Why don't you just get it delivered to your workplace during the day?

For completeness their online price promise details
    Currys Price Promise online:

For purchases bought from Currys.co.uk, our Price Promise will only apply to the identical product found to be cheaper on the following websites:

    Argos.co.uk
    Comet.co.uk
    Tesco.co.uk
    John Lewis.co.uk

So unfortunately no. I agree with macman, get it delivered free to your work.

  • OK I see. Do the Currys highstreet stores not have any discretion over things like this, like if I go in all interested in the netbook then when the sales guy comes over I mention I want it but seen it cheaper at Dixons online. They might want me to buy it from them to help their store targets rather than letting me go home to order in online from Dixons.

I couldn't say. No harm in trying I suppose and if they say no just order it online :D

Btw - that is a stonking price, I bought one for my girlfriend a little over 7 months ago for £300.

Confused by this thread - just searched Samsung NC110 which AFAIK is brand new out and it's mentioned here in 2009!
    It's not that old right?
I'm looking for a stylish functional netbook and just can't decide, thought I would plump for the NC110 as it's newly released so would not be out of date for a while. Is this actually incorrect?

I'm currently using a Samsung N130 netbook which I bought cheap online last year as an "open box return". Nothing wrong with it at all and hadn't been used. I upgraded the ram in it to 2GB.

They just decided to confuse you by releasing a model with the same designation.
