£27 MOT at Nationwide, is there a catch?

I think it all depends on your local branch. I've come across good and bad branches of most of the big chains.0

I used Half Price MOT voucher, My Nationwide Auto Centre Branch allowed me to take car away for 10 working days to get required work done elsewhere and didnt charge a part retest fee even though they reserved the right to do so. :T0

It's nice to see a couple of good reports then

Thanks for the advice though everyone

The problem with most chains is that the staff are paid a bonus proportionate to the amount of business they bring in.
That fact alone is enough to keep me away.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
I'm sure you'll be fine mate, as always if it fails and needs repairing ask to be shown where the fault is and if replacing anything tell them you require the old parts.
For a laugh, if there was to be a failure, i reckon the odds below are about right
Tyres - even money
Brakes - 2/1
Exhaust/CAT - 3/1
Welding Required - 50000/1 (Nationwide can't fix this!)0 -
I'll take £50 on Exhaust, down pipe e/w

Not used them for MOT but I did once use them for a puncture repair and they did it free of charge - just said remember us when you need new tyres. I was amazed (they were still to expensive when I changed the tyres though LOL)Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0

Nationwide told me MOT would have failed by cause lights were to high, which they adjusted for me for £10 by just turning the dial on the dashboard! Since I was not as smart as I am know, I didn't argue... And also - I have booked it with £10 off voucher online. So they charged me £10 for turning the dial!
