teeth whitening

Hi, can anyone help me please. I saw an ad online at the beginning of October for free teeth whitening samples, I just had to pay the p&p. I sent for the samples from purewhite and beutyclub, which I received. There was no invoice or contact details in with the samples and today I had a call from my credit card company telling me that they were requesting money from my account, as in their small print it says that when you order the free sample you sign up to a subscription. I have tried to find these companies on the internet to cancel but have had no luck. My credit card company have told me that it is my responsibilty to cancel it but I can't as I don't have any contact details for them.
Help please

Search the forums for pure white and dazzle white and you will get advice there including the address in Bedford for return. It's a real pain. They will keep billing you until 24 hours after they have confirmed you have cancelled. You can ring them at the number on your card statement toll free. The number after the name is the number in the US. You add 001 in front of the number and then say I want to cancel any agreement I have with any companies you represent and revoke authority to charge my card ending (last six digits) and your name and address. You can also email them. If you send an email to the address that sent to confirmation originally they will tell you the correct address to write/email to. When you have sent the packages back by tracked delivery they will supposedly refund the charges back to your card within 10 days. You have to include the original papers in the package and write your order number on the outside of the package. Not had mine yet but it isn't 10 days yet

Extreme White are not only scammers, they can't even spell basic words. Here is an email from them that popped into my spam folder today:-

  • Poor you - I hope it gets sorted out quickly. If you have more than one credit card perhaps you could cancel your card and order a new one......I bet the unscrupulous company will soon be in touch with you when they find they can't take the payment!!
  • I asked the credit card company about cancelling the card, and was told that even if I cancel it they can still get access to my account because they go by the account number and not the card number.
I have taken the advice given by NJW69 and have managed to get intouch with someone from dazzle white via live chat. They say they have cancelled any further shipments but I am not convinced, so I have printed a copy of the live chat so that I can show my card provider that I am trying to do something about it.
I went on google serch and found the following where can I buy dazzle white in the U.K. I can,t believe how many people have been ripped off by these people, it's shocking that they are getting away with it.

I had a friend who signed a Continuous Payment authority on his credit card then could not get it cancelled. The card company showed no interest, and the company which was taking money from his card ignored requests to cancel. He reported it lost and he was then issued with a brand new card, and new account number.

That seemed to do the trick..

  • Thank you for your reply, I think I my have to go down that route too.
  • If I am unsure about any company I am ordering off I use a pre pay credit card that way they cannot take the money if there isn't any on the card.
  • That is a really good idea swood, I think I will do that too, once bitten twice shy.
