I got a free Lebara sim for son to call his American friend. Does anyone know if there is a charge to receive calls? EG Does the friend in the USA have to pay if he calls them? If not this is a great deal at 4p per minute.
Thank you.

Some phone operators in the US charge to receive calls. So it would depend on their network.

Their is no charge to receive incoming calls. Its likely the reciever of the call will have to pay to recieve it.

If you have inclusive minutes either landline or mobile you can call USA at no charge via these people http://www.callsdiscount.com/uk/index.htm 0203 geographical access number.

True. The US does not differentiate between mobiles and landlines. i.e. It costs the same to call a US mobile as it does a landline. That's the reason for the charge for the incoming call. It's called RPP (Receiving Party Pays). It's also the reason most countries can call US landlines/mobiles for next to nothing. It's a moot point for most US phone users though, because we have so many minutes on our plans than we know what to do with it.
