Which firewall have you got?
If you have got Sygate, you need to open up Sygate firewall program, go to the "Logs" icon and click on the drop-arrow next to it and select "Traffic Log" and to see the past sites you have been to click on "Filter" and select the appropriate length of time.
Now it might not show the web address name that you want, e.g. www.msn.co.uk, but it may give you the IP address instead, e.g. 0.0.0.0 To see what site it is, enter the IP addresses into the address bar of a browser e.g. IE or firefox and a site should appear.
If you have Zonealarm. Go to My computer and click on the hard drive drive where the OS is stored (usually it is C: ) Go into the "Windows" folder and then open up the "Internet Logs" folder. Select the day(s) you wish to view. It won't display the name of the site in the logs, just the IP address. Just follow the instructions that I said above and hope it should show the site you want.

It is a work PC, so I'll ask the IT manager, will it show the page as it appeared on that date, or will it refresh to todays date?

Depending on the site, it might show the info from the date you want or it might just refresh to todays date by clicking on the history logs.emeraldbugle wrote:It is a work PC, so I'll ask the IT manager, will it show the page as it appeared on that date, or will it refresh to todays date?

If you're using Internet Explorer, you have the option of Right Clicking the icon on the desktop, selecting Properties. Then on the General Tab it says 'Temporary Internet Files' click the Settings button, where it says 'Check for newer versions of stored pages' move the radio button down to Never. Ok out of that, then when you open IE again, it won't download any fresh content.
Some programs that may help if the above doesn't:

HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0
