Carphone warehouse and O2 cashback confusion

Options
I took out an L6 with CPW in February on a 12 month free deal where the terms of the cashback was that i needed to claim with my 4th, 8th and 12th bill for 1/3 of the annual cost each time.

I received a bill in February for a part month as well as line rental in advance for the next month and as a consequence I consider this is the 1st bill- consequently I consider the bill arriving in may is the 4th and the correct one to send.

However when I have checked with Carphone Warehouse they state that this is not the correct bill and that I need to send the next bill which will be the 5th one in my view.

If they are correct then in order to claim the other cashbacks then i need to send the 9th bill and 13th bill which given that the contract is a 12 month deal and will not be kept on past the 12th month would put an end to that thought.

Can anyone shed any light on which bill is the correct one to send?

If first bill is for more than 1 & 1/2 months, then I class that as No 1 & No2 combined, and therefore send in my third actual bill as their No4 ... so far no queries although if they have told you otherwise I can't see why you would go against that.

When costing out, I always assume I will end up with 13 months ( and if I get out earlier thats to the good)

CPW usually manage their own billing & customer services for o2 contracts- the service ( online mycarphonewarehouse & tel ) can vary ( that said so can o2 direct!)

The bills you receive as email attachments are numbered, the first "combined" one being #1. CPW told me to submit my bills actually numbered 4, 8 and 12. This totally contradicts what the OP was told!

i took two of the same deal that you did and have sent my 4th bills. as these are the 4th bills. Worst comes to worst i'll post my 5th bills as well. But please remember you can still get a 13th bill but only stick to a 12 month contract.

thanks Ka7e- I agree that your interpreatation makes sense however- interestingly my 4th invoice doesn't actually have a number on the email attachemnt itself under invoice number- as such i am sceptical as to wheter or not this is a deliberate ploy by CPW or not.

Therefore i have submitted my 1st bill dated 22/2 and 4th one dated 22/05 together with the terms and conditions page from the web which states 4,8,12 airtime bills..

The guy from the chequeback team when I phoned said that the cpw term was worded badly but then again I would rather believe something that has been written down than something I have been told verbally by a call centre type rep!

  • Saverram- if you took the L6 on O2 off peak 1000- then there is no automatic cashback receiveable form CPW within 60-90 days of connection on this one- the cashbacks are £80 at months 4,8 and 12 upon submitting a bill (although what bill you actually submit is open to interpretation if you beleive what CPW employees tell you!)

My understanding was e2save, send the 4th etc bill you recieve, on receipt, osps (same group) send the 4th bill but only after 4 months of connection - but then again they may have changed again by now...
    I think....
