Hi Guys,
I've been offered a bargain on a second hand iphone 3g thats coming to the end of it's contract.
I am currently on orange payg and would ideally like to stay on orange. Does anyone know the best way to get the iphone unlocked or would you advise to move across on to o2?
Also a bit confused about the tarrifs, i'm currently on dolphin and mainly use my phone for texting and web,and currently put on around £10 a month, but at the minute i seem to be going over the 300 messages so could prob do with 500 looking on the orange site the iphone tarrif gives you 250mb a month, where as the one i'm on now gives upto 50mb a month. would i need a new sim card to be able to get the 250mb data?
Does anyone know the best tarrif on o2 that would offer a good amount of browsing for the iphone and around 500 messages??
Thanks for any advice
Michelle

If you search on YouTube, you will see demo of how to jail break an iPhone yourself. In case you find that technically challenging, you can always go to a phone unlock shop (not high street shops) who will unlock it for £30 or so. Just make a note that jail broken iPhone voids its warranty (if it is still remaining on your model).Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

I'm in a very similar situation. I have just bought a 3G iPhone from eBay. I am on Orange at the moment and the iPhone is, of course, locked to O2. I know everyone points you to the O2 website (like Hillendale has) but I just want to clarify the situation.
Do I simply go into an O2 shop and buy a 'Pay and Go' sim only (which costs 50p according to the website), top it up with £15, then go to the URL mentioned and make my request. Then it's just a case of waiting for O2 to send me a text to say I can go to iTunes to perform the unlock.
Is that it? I don't have to wait a certain period of time?
I read, somewhere, about needing to make a couple of phones calls (of at least 10 seconds) on the new 'Pay and Go' sim to kind of make it active. Is this right?0 -
Google blackra1n end of! takes 2 minutes to work, when jailbroken hit the blackra1n icon then hit the snow icon and voila! unlocked!'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.

Yeah! I know all about BlackRa1n, BlackSn0w, Pwnage and the like but I would rather get the unlock done properly, kind of future proof especially as my baseband is 05.11.07.0
