Easyjet pulling out of East Midlands airport

BMI Baby have also launched some new routes from EMA, including Venice, previously an Easyjet destination.
Which is good news, but not for me this time. I had tickets booked to Venice for my wife's 40th birthday on 31st Jan but BMI Baby don't start flying there until 12th Feb
I've checked everywhere fo ralternatives but there's nothing that's viable. I've got no choice but to take the refund and start again.0 -
As I understand from Nottingham Evening Post, Easyjet have already decided to start refunding people who have booked for the summer.
It is such a shame, but that is the way it is with so called low cost carriers (the only low cost being the wages they pay) they don't give a fig if you have a holiday booked, if their shareholder profits are at risk, you can take a flying leap. Bloody scandel.
Sorry, I disagree with your rant. The low wages they pay... if they were that low compared to the other airlines, nobody would be working for them. Your adding a rant into the mix which doesnt have anything to do with the matter.
I'm not sticking up for them, but they are offering refunds etc. If anyone had any sense, they could probably book their same flight with Jet2.0 -

Some people cannot book their flight with Jet2 despite having any sense because they need to be in such and such location because of work commitments. Comments such as 'had any sense' are not helpful for people like me who work and live overseas but go home for holidays.0 -

i said "probably" would be able to book the same flight. You are the exception to this, so get off your high horse.0 -

For what its worth I know of other colleagues who had booked the same flight to return to Italy for work and now have to find alternative ways to return back to Italy.
Easyjet have offered transfers to 3 other airports but of those 3 airports only Bristol flies to my destination. My family live north of EMA so getting to Bristol is not possible for me. Easyjet have not offered transfers to London Gatwick which does actually fly to my destination. Poor handling by Easyjet indeed.0
