<3 Kaspersky.. and it's free (for 3 computers) if you're a Barclays customer. If there are 2 of you with Barclays accounts, that's 6 licenses ;) and free renewal.

I used to use free AVIRA, but the free update server is very slow,so gave up, recently upgraded to win7 and also got kaspersky 1yr free from barclays, however, had big prob with the two working together, laptop froze A LOT, so enough is enough, using free MS securty essentials now, very lite, and good enough for me. give it a go.

Until it goes berserk and starts gobbling up 90% CPU for 10 minutes every time you start your computer. Over time it started doing this on every one of my computers, which is why they now all run Avira.

What do you like more about AVG - how much of a resource hog it is or how poor it's detection rates are?

    Avira 99.4%
    Avast 98%
    AVG 94%

When I've upgraded to 7 I'm trying out security essentials for a while.
