getting sucked into contract with 3
I have been a customer of 3 for 4years. They are not the best signal however, have found that being loyal i have got a really good deal with them,.. That was until I decided to upgrade my phone..
I allowed myself to agree for a phone to be sent to me, with the condition that i could send it back if i did not like it within 14days.. (I had initially said to the rep i wanted to go to the store, she was quite pushy and said it would be easier and you would have it the next day)..
Not once did they say that if you did more than just switch it on, it would tie me into the contract and it could not be sent back.. (i could have done more by looking at the phone in person in the store)..
after continous conversations with 3 they advise there is nothing they can do. So i will now have to wait til the contract ends to leave them completely and try and find a better (or is it better the devil you know) phone provider..
I Do wonder if there is any way that phone companies could be forced to do correct advertising and selling and inform of the clauses that are inplace in advance of the consumer receiving the goods. Whilst I am annoyed hence posting this, I will be looking into who governs and oversees good practise with these companies that are 'allegedly trying to keep good paying customers'
IS THERE A GOOD PHONE COMPANY OUT THERE, or are they all a law unto themselves.

mabe you could start by reading the paperwork thats enclosed with every 3 phone

There would have been a card in the phone box saying what you can and cant do if you want to return the phone.
Is it three's fault you didnt read it?
when you start a new job do you just sign your employment contract without reading it?0 -
I had the same thing happen to me and they didnt enclose the terms and conditions card in the box with the phone, they wouldnt take it back because i had set the date and time, they said i had personalised it, after threatening to cancel and actually cancelling on of my three accounts with them, they eventually capitulated. I argued time and date isnt personalising the phone, 99% of people will put the time and date on the phone!
By the way, did they play a recording of the terms and conditions, it was so long and boring but their get out is they mention the terms and conditions are also online, i argued against this saying how do you know i have a fully internet capable computer to which they replied we don't thats why we enclose a terms and conditions card with every phone, but with mine they didnt, i told them i am not stupid, if there was a terms and conditions card in the box i would have read it before even touching the phone. In the end they changed the phone for me.And yes the lady in the avatar is me
