dagobert .... i'm with barclays and as far as i know it's only if i'm transferring between my own barclay accounts ( i have a current acc,,,, and then an e savings acc) then it's unlimited ... but if i want to transfer to say an abbey account i have the limit is £1000 ... which is a pain.
this is cut&paste from barclay website. What are you seeing as "predefined payees"
What are the payment limits?
In an effort to protect accounts against recent fraudulent email scams, we've temporarily reduced the overall daily payment limit to third parties in Online Banking. This is currently set at £1,000. For transfers between your own Barclays accounts, the limit is £50,000 per transaction0 -

On the next screen you have a choice between these two options:
If you're paying a company, type its name in the box below and select 'search'.
Alternatively, you can key in the details yourself.
The latter option has the £1,000 limit imposed. Apparently, if you choose a company or organization from the list, this limit does not apply.Dagobert0 -

* Not all banking institutions subscribe to this database. Most notably, for me at least, I can't pay my LTSB credit card using 'bill payments' from my own current account - because the search does not find a biller for 77-29-00/00000000, I have to use 'funds transfer' instead.0 -

True. However it doesnt mean we should have create easy to access list for them. Like i said just my opinion, you guys do what you feel is right.:santa2:0 -
dagobert ... do you think that it only applies if saying you are paying a bill to an organisation ... rather than ... say ... if we have an abbey savings account .. that we can't transfer more than £1000 from our barclays .. to the abbey ??0

Now that these two savings accounts offer market-leading interest rates, it's worth noting that unlimited online transactions are permitted.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0
