Transaction Limits

I am starting this thread in order to compile information on the transaction limits that different banks impose on online and phoneline banking.
The question has arisen in other threads. It would be useful to know in advance how much money you can shift per day or per transaction.
I don't think information given over the phone by customer services can necessarily be trusted. I phoned one bank to-day and the advisor was not sure at all about their transaction limit! Another bank displayed conflicting information on their FAQ pages!

I am with Natwest and tried to pay the balance of my holiday (£2270) the other day and it was declined. Direct holidays, had to take it out in two transactions over two days. Not sure why, I had the money in my account and have never been informed of any limits before.

Halifax current account £15,000 per day

The Bank of Scotland reduced their transaction limit from £15,000 to £5,000 sometime during the past year.
The information above is outdated.
The daily transfer limit has been increased to £15K per external payment per account. This applies to both Bank of Scotland and Halifax accounts.
You can only set up one payment to the same destination from anyone account. If you want to send more then £15K to one destination, you can do so by setting up several accounts (for instance WebSaver).Dagobert0
