O2 minimum contract length 18 months??
Have just come to the end of a very troublesome 18 month contract with 3 and am desperate to change to something better. Having had several problem free years with 3, shortly after I signed up to my first 18 mo contract with them, reception in the areas that I use the phone most (i.e. my parent's home, my house etc) deteriorated very significantly - to the extent that I could no longer get any reception at all in my parents' house.
Waiting out the 18 month contract was an enormous nuisance, and I absolutely refuse to sign up to another contract of that length - there's no need for it, and having had my fingers burnt once I am not doing it again.
Having established that 02 has good reception in all the places I need, I went to have a look at their site ... and for their "Pay monthly" deals, the minimum length now appears to be 18 months!?! WHY???
I will go PAYG before sign another 18 month contract - it's just idiotic! Most people aren't even tied to a mortgage deal for 18 months, so why the hell should I have to enslave myself to O2 for that long for a bloody phone?

02 simplicy plans do have 1 & 12 month contracts. http://shop.o2.co.uk/sim-only-simplicityAlthough no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Apart from the O2 simplicity - you can still get 12 month regular contracts with O2. Look on dialaphone.co.uk (cashback deals most of them but thats how to get them).0
