If people base their decision on whether or not to buy a home on the advice of complete strangers on the internet, then they deserve what they get. When I first came here I was interested in what people thought about the future for house prices, I quickly came to the conclusion that people had no more clue than I did.
I therefore weighed up my decision based on my own circumstances and my own criteria, some based on financial criteria, some based on personal ones. I moved into my first house on Friday and spent the weekend slapping magnolia over everything to freshen it up. It's brill!

The bulls in this forum have massive negative equity and are hoping the market picks up to bail them out of the !!!! that they should have never put themselves into in the first place.
Really, how do you know this, have they told you?
And knowing this the recident bulls are incouraging newbie house buyers to fall into the same trap.
Maybe you are doing them an injustice, some people might be capable of making their own decisions and only come here to gauge opinion to identify any need for further reseach.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Thats all anyone really needs to know. Well done for seeing through all the [STRIKE]bullsh!t[/STRIKE] conflicting advice.0 -
i was teasing David - no need to justify anything hereI don't see anything abusive in the OP, do you? I agree with nollag to some extent, and so did others on the House Buying channel when I looked. They felt Brit's response wasn't sufficiently balanced or tentative.
you are right it a sign of weakness in their argument - just like the need for multiple user id's...Depends on context, severity etc. I couldn't agree more in the matter of what nollag said about Brit's literacy skills on the other channel. Belittling people in off-topic ways, and in public, is a sign of weakness, in my opinion.0 -

Anyone on this forum is free to post what they wish within the rules.
you surely mean threads like these don't you...Just a note to any would-be buyer out there: you may have noticed (a) that house prices have fallen solidly for the last 11 months (b) that annual house price falls now outstrip those at the worst point of the early 90's crash (c) that all financial experts are regularly predicting Armageddon in the world economy, as one bank after another collapses.Yes there are some pretty peculiar headlines out there in Money Saving Expert's housing forum - along the line of 'Everything fine and dandy!', 'House prices set to soar' etc - posted by the same 1 or 2 individuals - londonlandlady, horseinhatman etc - who are probably the same individual troll posting under different names.

Someone is discussing the biggest buying decision of their life (under a concocted scheme) whilst the great and the good are having emergy meetings about the parlous state of the economy and you are saying the subject of 'future value' is out of bounds?
Yes it is because it's off topic.0
