Thanks for that Dusty and for the reminder Rose. I have about 3 boxes of toys to list so I should really try and get those sorted tomorrow while DH here to occupy kids.

Question regarding XH... I get all the money for the children.. XH earns the same amount each month as I get for all 9 of us. Obviously he has bills etc as do I, but he doesn't contribute towards the childrens clothing or anything (not that I have asked!) Anyway, DD2 brought home a letter about a week at camp next May.. it is £175 (I paid the full £450 + passport + spending money for DD1 this year) for the 5 days.. should I ask him to contribute? Or should I not be a twit and realise that he will say no and I get the money and I didn't want him to come back usual blah-di-blah?

I am sending in a £20 deposit tomorrow with the letter so she can go.. but the other £155 might prove elusive now I have no more insurance cheques coming in.

I'd suggest getting DD2 to ask him as others have mentioned - but you really do need to get things sorted out formally. I'm sure, given how tightly controlled your finances are, that you'll have plenty of detail to provide on how much your children cost to support (and to prove that you aren't squandering money on inessentials), so you should get a fair settlement (I'd ask for back-pay too!).

Re. uni - if you're going to defer, I suggest that you put together a list of everything you need to get done before next October in order to make it manageable, and then give yourself some goals throughout the year. I know if you put your mind to it you'll get it done!

    Morning all

Sexy - I'm sending you knock 'em dead vibes for today xx

We have had more heavy rain overnight and things in the town are flooded and there's more heavy rain due today. If it continues, I may just consider beginning to build an ark....
Like Dusty, I'm sure the ark will be done in plenty of time (particularly now Froddy's going to help out ;))

Lots of get job vibes for soappie and get through the assessment vibes for sexymouse.

Happy and healing vibes to the rest of you as wanted and needed.

sexymouse - I strongly suggest getting hold of both the school and county bullying and harrassment policies - they apply to you as well as to the children. If you want to talk about it, you can give me a call anytime.

carol - well done on making it through your first week. Just take it a day at a time and don't try to do too much, but you need to keep going.

embb - I really don't understand why they can't do the rest of the work while waiting for the insulation etc... it's not like they're going to be knocking the house down and starting again (at least, I hope not!), and plenty of people have this done when the rest of the house is in perfect condition and don't have to redecorate/refit kitchens or bathrooms afterwards

I've had my sports massage (woke up at 7.45, so just made it... hope that's the jet lag gone now), been to the farm shop, been to the post office, been to the village shop. My parents left Norfolk around 10ish, so I need to get the shopping put away, some of the washing done and the house generally tidy (ready for them to dump stuff all over... still, I can't complain as they're coming to help) by about lunchtime.

Oh yes - and find some soup for lunch, as it's cold and wet and horrible - perfect gardening weather

Ishtar my DD1 is 5 on 2nd December, her party is on Sat 5th at home. We are jaut having anbout 10 girls and having traditional party games and making some disco dancing and party tea. What are you doing ? And what are you getting her ? mine is getting a ELC CD player and a disco light :D

DD's party is on the 12th and we're holding it at the local Snakes and Ladders - it's a playbarn....Because there are 3 birthday children, and there will be some overlap in who they invite, we're hoping to have 15 children come along. We'll point them in the direction of the play equipment and stand well back!

We're getting her a big arts and crafts set and some books, and I've got my eye on that game 'mouse trap' as a little extra.

    So far today, I have:
    Made bed (FLYING)
    Shoved bleach down loo (FLYING)
Put away dried washing up (FLYING)
    Had a cup of coffee
    Changed flower water (FLYING)
    Sent a PM
    Replied to a PM
Got up to 1142 words on essay (858 to go)

This is the most flying I've done in quite a while. Oh and I forgot to tell you all, I sent off my application for a year internship at L'Oreal Paris and Dusseldorf, so hopefully I'll hear back from them soon.

Lots of hugs to everyone (even those who don't want them)

(why do people phone you when you are trying to get something done!)
