Vodafone Access Gateway

I'm with 3 at the moment, and I've decided to finally give them the shove, after 6 years *sniff*.
Vodafone's 3G coverage is similar to 3's at my home (i.e. 'variable'). Where Vodafone trump 3 though is their 'Access Gateway'. Has anyone got one of these? Do they do what they say on the tin?
My plan is to buy a Nokia N900 when released (sim free), and go SIM Only with Vodafone. I saw someone on here get 900 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited internet and some other goodies for £15, which is £5 less than what I am paying 3 for 300 minutes or texts and internet!
