AMD started the ball rolling in 2003 and intel join in 2004. So to be sure late 2004 you would expect all processors to be compatible.Yeah it comes with both. Anyway I thought all processors since about 2003 could handle 64bit?
Full retail version come with both but upgrades and academic version nly seem to ship with one or the other.New PV club member. 3.99kW system. Solar Edge with 14 x 285W JA Solar panels. 55° West from south and 35° pitch.0 -

Not everything made from 2004 (by Intel anyway) is x64 compatible. I got mine new in 2006 and it doesn't support x64. And that's dual core too.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

Interesting, a £100 pc that will run Windows 7 at a decent speed....
Older pcs will require pc2100/2700/3200 and memory for those is still quite expensive compared to the newer pcs. (Thank heavens for Vista)
So i'd recommend looking for something quite fresh. If it's not the quickest at the moment you have the capacity to add more cheaper memory later.0 -
