Probably a perfectly serviceable Pentium 4 base unit?
Or europc have Dell Optiplex's starting at £130, these will be ex office refurbs. Main thing is you need one with a valid copy of XP already installed, otherwise you'll be paying for that on top.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Aria do ex-corportae HP/Compaq desktops for about £80. Very well engineered, if you can cope with 60Gb HDD0

Only catch there is anything you get that cheap will need a lot added at once when you get round to it. Intel processors are changing sockets, AMD changed a wee while ago. Not to mention memory all changing. If I was you I would look on freecycle or buy real cheap on ebay or newspaper. Then save your budget up to make more changes at once.Would prefer a more normal PC that I can add things to easily.

Yeah it comes with both. Anyway I thought all processors since about 2003 could handle 64bit?0
