what the best computer I could get for under £100?

Just need the main unit, I have a monitor etc, and obviously I'm looking for second hand.

Probably a perfectly serviceable Pentium 4 base unit?
Or europc have Dell Optiplex's starting at £130, these will be ex office refurbs. Main thing is you need one with a valid copy of XP already installed, otherwise you'll be paying for that on top.

Aria do ex-corportae HP/Compaq desktops for about £80. Very well engineered, if you can cope with 60Gb HDD

Would prefer a more normal PC that I can add things to easily.

Only catch there is anything you get that cheap will need a lot added at once when you get round to it. Intel processors are changing sockets, AMD changed a wee while ago. Not to mention memory all changing. If I was you I would look on freecycle or buy real cheap on ebay or newspaper. Then save your budget up to make more changes at once.
What version of Windows 7 did you get 32bit or 64bit as if its 64 you need a PC with a compatible processor.

Don't all versions come with both? My home premium full came with 2 DVDs, 32 and 64 bit.

Yeah it comes with both. Anyway I thought all processors since about 2003 could handle 64bit?
