can you change contracts before term is up?

In the past I remember transferring tarrifs within an o2 contract mid term on the contract.
Can this still be done as I want to move onto a SIM only contract as I see a very good one i'd like to make use of.

They'll usually let you move up a plan (but not down).
If the monthly costs more they won't have a problem, if its less not a hope.0 -

You cant alter a contract you got with a phone, into a sim only contract . Their two different kettles of fish.:D0

Did it 3 years ago!!! Went in month 8 or 9 of a 12 months contract with a phone into a sim only.... but have been with O2 for about 8 years and always pay bills on time by DD and so maybe that does actually count for something....I am a priority or VIP customer or whatever they call their top customers so maybe that also helps....will find out tomorrow....0
