What is the difference between MPPI, income protection and ASU?

Options
I'm getting very confused!

Are they are the same thing, but just with different names?

I know someone will put me in the direction of the guides already produced for this website, but I've read them and I got more confused.

Maybe I should ask a further question - all I need is cover in place if I become unemployed due to being made redundant - the sickness payment policy at my workplace is more than adequate for my needs. This cover needs to be able to pay my mortgage, but also to provide a bit of extra cover for essetial bills such as gas, water and electricity.

What is the best option for me to go for?

MPPI and ASU are the same thing.

IPP is an overused term that used to refer only to PHI but is now used to incorporate ASU policies as well.

Based on what you are saying, you need an unemployment policy only with a PHI to commence when employer sick pay runs out.
