You get instant approval only if you apply office hours mon-fri, otherwise you have to wait to be approved and they email you and the card is added to your amazon account at this point.
.
I was instantly approved out of hours but my credit record is squeaky clean ( has to be or I'd be out of a job!)0 -

It's a £15 credit to your card account when you make your first purchese anywhere!

I took the amazon card - which then turned into the Halifax card, to take advantage of the same offer a few years back. I then cancelled the card.
Am I still eligible to apply for this card, and get the £15 again?

I had Amazon.co.uk credit card ages ago and then it stopped and became just plain Halifax card. Now I see they are offering a new Amazon.co.uk credit card and I applied but got rejection from Bank of America saying I failed credit check. I was actually worried enough to apply for Experian credit check, which all seems fine (I have 3 cards but all are paid promptly and a car loan of £8000).
Bank of America must have a very high credit score required as I estimate mine using moneyforums website to be 870ish which seems high enough for me0 -
I took the card a few years ago. Works well, its actually one of the better CCs to get according to this and a few other sites. Its a card you get points on for using, but after 2 years, becomes a Halifax CC. This is because it is owned by Halifax bank anyway.
Its no different to a normal CC, pay off the balance each month/set up a direct debit to pay off the full balance each month and you pay nothing to use it.
If you get a CC and keep paying off what you buy each month, it can actually improve your credit score- but you MUST pay it off -set up a direct debit or make sure you check online and pay off what you have spent, don't get yourselves into debt, this is what spoils your CC score.
Wondered what happened to mine, I thought they simply stopped doing the credit card when I was sent a halifax replacement one. Bit miffed because I use amazon loads. Can I reapply for another amazon one then (and will it still be run by halifax)?
Sorry, appears I jumped the gun somewaht and others are asking the same thing here...Sometimes you get what you deserve... :cool2:0 -

Don't think anyone has asked that question and actually its a pretty good one- seing as the banks are different, I can't see any reason why not- I would love to know- can't apply for one myself (am not allowed credit for the next 5 or 8 or so years after applying for a debt relief order earlier this year). Don't ask me why, but I am still allowed to keep this Halifax-exAmazon Credit card!0
