I applied for one of these card a few weeks back but heard nothing... have i been rejected or does it take a while??

I find credit cards a bit of a liability because you're effectively carrying that amount of cash around. I usually only stick to one at a time.

I must admit it was the £15.00 offer that attracted me, I don't want it for a balance transfer or anything and I do use the Amazon site for presents etc.

Also when reading the blurb about the card, I have not seen any reference to any annual fees, so I'm assuming there aren't any tucked away in some nasty small print.

Unless Amazon have a new and different contract with a different bank (which going on Halifax's past record could be entirly likely) its a Halifax CC I have. You may well get a bank of America CC, guess its Amazon who hold the contract as its their name, depends who they have chosen as the holding bank.

I found that I was able to get £15 off my first order. I just used the card for something costing £15 and got it for free.
Only months later when I lost my job I ended up relying on it (no pay, 3 month wait for income support) managed to skive the interest fees as it had so many months interest free- life saver at the time!

Hve not incurred any annual fees with my card and I scruitinise my bills so carefully that I put in for a fraud claim when I forgot I had to use the card on £2 worth of food (no cash) it was only when they gave me all the details of the transaction that I realised! But then, my card is with Halifax and not Bank of America. You could always just ask them- I spent quite alot of time on the phone trying to find the catch to the £15, eventually not finding anything I asked them outright "whats the catch" to which they told me that as long as I paid what I owed on the card, no catch. Been OK so far-touch wood!

I had one of these. I don't think Halifax is behind it any more. I had some correspondence a while back about my card changing to a Halifax card (which I need to cancel). I'm sure it said they were ending their relationship. I could only earn points up to such and such a date and it definitely wasn't two years since I took out the card.

It's Bank of America. I got mine last week, spent a fiver at Amazon and they credited £15 to account, and then spent it again :beer:

To answer some above queries:

You get instant approval only if you apply office hours mon-fri, otherwise you have to wait to be approved and they email you and the card is added to your amazon account at this point.

The £15 is NOT in the form of a voucher. It's actually credited to your account at the same time as your first purchase. So buy something for £15 and your first statement will be for £0.00.

The credit card is with 'Bank of America' who also appear linked with MBNA. If you have existing MBNA credit cards this may affect your overall credit limit.

If you are married/living with other adults each of you can apply for this card individually and all benefit from the free £15 credit.

I have just applied, when I am accepted will I automatically get the vouvher added to my account or a £15.00 credit on the first bill?

Only just caught up with this. The card is bank of America. I cancelled over the phone, and got confirmation by letter a few days later.

When I applied, it was immediately accepted and allowed the card to be used instantly for Amazon purchases. I spent £17, and recieved a bill for £2 - so the £15 was credited straight away. hth xx

presume this only credits your actual Amazon account and isnt acceptable for items bought thro Amazon Traders?
