Which flip phone?

My daughter wants a new flip phone to replace her Samsung E330. The Samsung is fine but she wants to be able to take good video and wants Bluetooth connectivity which the Samsung doesn't have. It should also have a good camera. All this and pre-pay.
Any suggestions please?
Thanks.

its going cost a lot for good video, especially if its pre-pay...
how much does she top-up every month, it may be cheaper to consider a contract.

She tops up around £10 per month but says she is prepared to pay £150 to £160 for the right phone.

Yes, it may be cheaper to consider a contract. If you look at o2, £19 a month (12 month contract only, so after that you can swap it back to pay as you go or upgrade again) with £35 instant(ish) bashback via quidco (equivilent of £16 a month). This contract comes with 200 texts and 50 minutes a month, which I find is perfect for young uns.

This nets you just about any handset you want. You could have a v3im/v3x, D600, LG Chocolate, W810i, N70 (which are all top phones) for free. O2 phones come unlocked generally so you can also use it with a different provider if you want.

Dont forget to flog the E330 on ebay and put it towards it. It'll probably fetch more than you think (if you do though, set it to only allow people with registered paypal accounts to bid)

£10 a month topping up? Then it makes far more sense to get a contract. for an extra £6 a month (£72 over the course of the year) you can have more minutes/texts, and a far better handset.

After the 12 months, you can either port it out to a standard pay as you go sim, or upgrade to another new handset (and flog the old one on Ebay, which usually nets about £80-£100, good choices of handset can very occasionally make a profit like when I sold my free P910i for £265).

Contracts make far more sense for people who are after the higher end phones as opposed to those who are after basic phones.

or even don't bother with paypal bidders at all. You might have less bidders but it may also save you a lot of heartache if someone is trying to pull a fast one(even people with registered accounts)

Samsung E770, S500i are good flip phones.

sorry thor, selling mobiles is completely different to other auctions on ebay - if you don't restrict it to people only with registered confirmed paypal accounts then it will be bought by a nigerian scammer. Just about guaranteed.

oh I quite agree about Nigerian scammers but I would not take a chance with any paypal bidders even if the majority of them are genuine. There has been too many bad reports about paypal and paypal themselves do not do themselves any favours when investigating disputes.

Trust me, its the lesser or two evils. I've sold lots of mobiles (probably about 20) on Ebay and everytime that I have not restricted it to people with confirmed paypal accounts it has been bought by Nigerian scammers.
