    Well my windows is using 18.1 GB so id say quite easily yes

    You could try reducing 'shadow service'

    The other obvious is perform a DISC CLEANUP on c drive (RIGHT click and select PROPERTIES)

    Disc cleanup was the first thing I did.
    What is the memory in the D drive for? Can it be accessed?

    D drive can be accessed just the same as C drive via COMPUTER
    Its used for storage purposes (exactly the same as C drive except it doesnt have an operating system on it)

    Do you have any folders of music\photos\videos on your desktop. If so move them onto the D: Drive and that will free up some space. Like wise move your music folder in itunes to the D as well. remember to change the default music folder location in iTunes so it can find it.
