As other have said it would be worth checking that the solicitor giving your parents the wrong information didn't let them name him or her as executor., if so it needs to be remedied.0

The other thing which can be done, if you suspect that something is being done which is not above board, is to put a Caveat on the Will before it goes forward to Probate. I think this would have be to be done via a solicitor. In the rare cases where it is applied it is done because the individual has good reason to believe that the Will may not be a valid one, i.e. undue influence was exerted or the Will was made when the person who wrote it was not mentally competent, etc. However, if you do not even know the contents of the Will, when it was made or who the beneficiaries are, I think this would be very difficult to apply.0
