Samsung D500 HELP!!

I have a Samsung D500 which I've had on contract for just over a year now; I've decided it's time for an upgrade so I'm planning on giving the D500 to SD to use.

However....when I put in a different SIM card, it's asking for a SIM unlock code. Now I vaguely remember setting this up when I first got the phone but I can't for the life of me remember what the code was! I've tried the code I use for the SIM and various other combinations of numbers that I use as PIN's but no joy. Is there anything I can do?

it sounds like it is asking for the phone unlock code to me as you are using a different network sim

I think dracir is right, it's locked to your network, by changing the sim to a different network it won't work, it will need unlocking and sadly the D500 can only be done in a shop or the market, costs about £5-£10.

The phone is unlocked to all networks as it came on an O2 contract and has had an Orange SIM in it. There's a security option on the phone to lock the phone to a specific SIM and it's this code that I can't remember!

i think the default is 00000000 if you havent changed it
if not then you need to get it reset

you maybe able to reset it with d500 service tools or winimei (you will need correct cable) but im not sure if you will lose any data?
if that doesnt work you will need to reflash it
