PPI Reclaim

Hi Di,
I have found the original paper work and it would seem that easy loans was and is part of Stirling Direct Finance which in turn is part of London Scottish Bank PLC.
They have gone into administration but I should still be able to cliam I think. The company number is 3307536 how can I check this out?
Also while looking through I have found another two PPi potential claims. One is LTSB from 2000? and Endeavour loans from 2002 both of which had added the cost of the PPi to the loan, so am I able to claim these at the same time as I am claiming aginst the first one?
Thanks
Tony
Hi Tony
I will check these out on Companies house search for you, and will post back shortly.
One of mine is also Endeavour, they were the lender of a loan taken out in 2004 but the broker I used for this called Click Finance dissolved, so I have taken this one to the FOS and they are looking into taking this the underwriter/insurer direction, so I would also advise you do the same too if you want to, did you use a broker for this Endeavour one, or was it sold by them direct?
The lloyds TSB not a problem either, you can complain direct to them.
Back shortly.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
London Scottish are actually listed with the Financial compensation scheme, if it was these that sold/brokered this one, you can try to claim through the FSCS here:
http://www.fscs.org.uk/contacts/
Contact them for a claim form.
Default information
Firms declared in default
You can search our database to see if the firm you are making enquiries about has already been declared in default by FSCS. This means that FSCS is satisfied that it is unable, or likely to be unable, to pay claims against it. A declaration of default opens the way for the firm's customers to make a claim for compensation to us.

Sterling are still active, so again if it was them whom arranged and sold you the finance from the start, you write to them.
Here are the details I found in regards of Sterling:
Name & Registered Office:
STERLING DIRECT FINANCE LIMITED
201 DEANSGATE
MANCHESTER
LANCASHIRE

Company No. 03307536Status: Active
Date of Incorporation: 24/01/1997

Tony, hope you find the above of some help.
In regards of the lloyds loan ppi's on both loans, if you have the same reasons for being mis sold then of course you can write about both of them on the same letter, and remember to include both acount numbers for each loan.
On the loan insurance link I posted yesterday, you will find the letter templates, you cna use them if you want to - or a guide, then check the checklist of mis selling reasons and if any of them occur to you then also write then in your letter as well.
They have 8 weeks in full to respond, keep at them - until you receive a decision in your favour, or until they issue you with the final response which should include details of the FOS, you would be eligible to take your complaints to them if your not happy with the final outcome.
Post all letters by recorded delivery, for your proof of posting, there is an address thread on the site here, and in regards of the loan ppi many use this address here:
Lloyds PPI
Customer Care
Lloyds TSB Insurance
Tredegar Park
Newport
South Wales
NP10 8SB
More addresses here:

I would also check as well, if you had taken out loans with lloyds tsb, its likely you may have been sold credit cards with added ppi, thought I would mention this to you while posting on lloyds, if you do have a case here then keep the credit card ppi reclaim separate to the loan ppi reclaims.
In regards of Endeavour, if your unsure on whom to take this one too, ring the FOS, like myself here, because Endeavour were not governed by GISC where the the FSA taken over in Jan 2005, however the FOS will consider other directions on whom to pursue with.
Hope this helps.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks again for the info,
It seems to be a bit of a mind field when you are new to this but it would seem that I may be able to claim quite a lot of charges.
I will write to LTSB and also Sterling direct as they are the people who are listed as the comapny heading for easy loans .co.uk.
I will phone the FOS tomorrow and find out which is the best way to go with Endeavour.
Many thanks agin

Hi Tony
Your very welcome.
Good luck with your PPI reclaiming on all of them, and good idea to write to Sterling then if this is case that they sold you the loan/ppi.
I think it may be wise then to contact the FOS in regards of Endeavour, if they were the lender and also arranged the loan, you could if you want to still write to Endeavour as they are still active but with the HFC bank, you will probably get back the same reason as me that they were not covered as such as yours were earlier than mine again when you taken this out.
Like I said though if you want to write to Endeavour first, is up to you, but otherwise the FOS will advise you of your best direction to take on this one.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi
Just a quick update. I wrote to London Scottish Bank on Monday and have recived a letter back today from the joint administrators, saying they will look at my complaint and get back to me within 4 weeks!
so the first reply was quick. I just need to see if they make me an offer now!

Please can anyone help me? I have a secured loan with First National for £25,000 for 124 months started in 3/06. APR variable 9.6% and repayments started at £329.17. I specifically asked for no payment protection as had life insurance and income protection in place. On the signed documents payment protection is put as zeros but have been told that it has been included in the interest. Interest is on the paperwork as £14350.40. As this is a loan over £25000 I believe that the rules are slightly different or am I barking up the wrong tree and been given the wrong information? I would be grateful for any information you are able to give me. Many thanks!0
