Pavement Parking

It amuses me no end when i actually see someone in a car parked on a pavement and i walk by with either my daughter in a pushchair and scrape the side of their car or do not alter the direction i am going to accomodate them and push the wing mirror back.
They are dying to have a go at me, but when you are over 6ft 4ins and nearly 16st, staying in their car and being quiet is the safer option for them :T
What a moronic attitude. So because you're six foot, you damage cars deliberately

As bad as or even worse that parking on the pavement as far as I'm concerned. One in an infuriating inconvenience the other is criminal damage. I understand the feeling but actually resorting to that is pretty weak."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Agreed, you come on here and claim to hold the moral high ground, and then claim that you cause criminal damage if things aren't going your way!!
Since you are so concerned about the issue, I expect you're going to hand yourself into your nearest police station and hold your hands up for causing this damage. No? I don't think you would.
Be warned, I would have no qualms about challenging anyone, regardless of size or sex, if they damage my car. If you're prepared to have scant regard for my property, don't expect me to feel morally challenged about calling the police to report your crime.
I suggest you get off the soapbox before someone runs it over.0 -
It is quite OK to park on the pavement, or anywhere for that matter, if you put your hazard flashers on - the vehicle then becomes invisible !0

There's always somewhere suitable to park, the driver just has to walk further to get where he/she wants to be. Like I say, lazy, cant be bothered.
Come and spend a week with me dropping computers off, multiple stops per day, THEN tell me there is always somewhere suitable to park and call me lazy for not wanting to lug a great big heavy box half a mile up a hill.0 -

loading and unloading is a different matter altogether, as you probably well know.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
im sorry but whoever on here believes its legal to park on the pavement even with half on the road, is completely wrong
i only took my test a couple of months ago, and know for a fact it is 100% illegal. it may not have been when others too their tests but it is now
unless its otherwise specified by the council markings that it is legal ofcourse, otherwise it defaults to illegalBack by no demand whatsoever.0 -

Pavements are for pedestrians. The highway code makes that perfectly clear.
Pavements aren't made with the same strength fabric as roads and thats why so many pavements become potholed when cars park on them, causing dangers to pedestrians when potholed, then loads of fraudulent tripping claims are made to the councils costing them (is us the tax payers) millions each year. Park on the road unless otherwise signposted0 -
Unfortunately we don't all live in these utopian communties where our roads are as wide as dual carriageways and there's ample and available parking for all. Most UK residentail roads are fairly narrow, for example if everyone on my street parked with all 4 wheels on the road this would cause a serious obstruction. So we are all forced, out of necessity, to find a happy medium and park with 2 wheels up, and as it only tends to be residents that use the pavements locally then this shouldn't be an issue.0
