Pavement Parking

I'll tell you the problem seeing how you are too stupid to realise yourself......
It's not just about pedestrians. What about mums with pushchairs or people in wheelchairs? Or even people with shopping trollies?
All of these people have a right to use a pavement that an idiot that parks on it does not.
It amuses me no end when i actually see someone in a car parked on a pavement and i walk by with either my daughter in a pushchair and scrape the side of their car or do not alter the direction i am going to accomodate them and push the wing mirror back.
They are dying to have a go at me, but when you are over 6ft 4ins and nearly 16st, staying in their car and being quiet is the safer option for them :T
If you'd actually carried on reading my posts you'd see that I am a parent with a pushchair myself.
The only stupid person around here is the 6ft 4in grunt who thinks it is perfectly OK to go around causing criminal damage.
Not everything is black and white, there are grey areas and there is such a thing as taking rules a bit too literally.0 -

What a ridiculous suggestion.
If I can't park legally maybe the council/highways should provide more spaces, afterall I pay them a bloody fortune in tax.
In the meantime I will continue to considerately park my car on the pavement, leaving enough room for peds to pass of course.0 -
Only yesterday i was taking my daughter for a walk in her pushchair and the pavement was blocked by cars i dont want to walk on a busy road with the pushchair endagering my dauthers and my life . The owner of the nice 09 plate merc now has a mark of the pushcair down the side of his car.0

Only the other day my wife was pushing our baby when her way was blocked by a car fully parked on the pavement by, of all people, a bunch of christians offloading at their church. She had no choice but to walk on the busy road. So yes I do see what the problem is. But sometimes people have no choice but to park illegally due to local traffic or parking conditions.0 -
I thought this forum was for helping folks ? not flaming them for something that they have asked help over.
My advice for the op..... pop over to pepipoo for some more informed help as the ticket and or signs may be wrong and you can appeal on those grounds. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -

Oxymoron. Parking on the pavement is by definition inconsiderate."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Outside my parents' house the pavement was so badly damaged by cars driving onto and parking there that the council had to replace the old broken and wobbly flagstones. Which was a great shame, but they were so uneven that it was dangerous for pedestrians.
Within hours of the workmen leaving (after completing a really nice, clean job) guess what? Yep, the pavement was being used as a car-park. We were back to square one with a damaged, uneven and dangerous pavement within a few months.
Hopefully, any fines go to defray the costs of repair.0 -
In SOME areas, the council allow parking half on the pavement and half on the road, otherwise the road is not wide enough for emergency vehicles.
If you were parked over the line indicating how far onto the pavement cars can parked, then your ticket is justified and you should pay it.
If you were parked within the marked area, then dispute the ticket.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
There's always somewhere suitable to park, the driver just has to walk further to get where he/she wants to be. Like I say, lazy, cant be bothered.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
