Hi guys i need to buy a memory card for my SLVR phone. The motorola have on their site is this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000BRC75S/202-4268756-9108625?v=glance&n=560798&s=electronics&v=glance.

Also on amazon is this onehttp://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000CDE6IM/202-4268756-9108625?v=glance&n=560798&s=electronics&v=glance

They both look exactly the same apart from one says transflash, what does this mean, is transflash better? Will only transflash work.

These to cards are both sold on amzon market place so i cant use by £20 gift voucher. Amazon themselves also sell this card http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000FFURIU/202-4268756-9108625?v=glance&n=560798&s=electronics&v=glance.

Will the micro sd from this fit the SLVR? Also will the main card work in my DIGITAL camera? At the moment i have this card in it
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00006JUGV/202-4268756-9108625?v=glance&n=560798&s=electronics&v=glance

The two cards do look different as the one I have at the moment has straight edges and the other one has gaps in the edges and the bottom?

    thanks for any help tom

microSD is the new name for Transflash. They're still pretty uncommon - just do a search in Froogle (go to Google.co.uk, enter microSD, and click Froogle at the top) or pricerunner.co.uk

MiniSD is smaller than the SD card your camera uses, but you can get an adapter to put the MiniSD into an SD device. Similarly, a MicroSD (remember, same as Transflash) can be converted to MiniSD OR full-size SD.

Should be pretty obvious you can't fit a quart into a pint-pot - so a bigger one won't fit into the slot of a device that uses a smaller one. (i.e. can't use SD in a Mini/MicroSD slot, and can't use a MiniSD in a MicroSD slot; other way round is possible using aforementioned adapters - which come with many cards).

    HTH.

Get what you pay for I suppose.... The kingston 1GB 133x card is 27quid, SanDisk 133x card is 36quid and the myemory 133x(really 60x) is 14quid!!!! So if you have 250quid+ camera then I would perhaps stay away from the mymemory card and invest in the dearer 133x cards which actually read and write at 133x speed ie 20MB/s.

Yep - the Kingstons are well specified. I bought mine from offtek.co.uk who had them then at £28 but you get a whopping 10% off via QuidCo and it's free postage. So not bad!

I only buy electronics from places that allow you a return for any reason.
Actually, distance selling regulations allow you to return ANYTHING tangible bought by mail order within 7 days without a reason. You do have to pay postage though, which is fair enough.

anyone know whether the (original) Tomtom Go is particularly fussy about SD cards? I want to install the European maps I have bought but need a larger card than the 256Mb one that shipped
with the device. Also, is there an upper limit as to the amount of memory it will recognise on the card?

    TIA

My son wants a Scandisk 1GB for his Samsung D600, which we were gonna get from MyMemory (£29ish) - does anyone know where to get it cheaper?
I see on the 7dayshop.com that they have a 2GB Scandisk for £34.99 - is it the same card and worth paying the extra £5 for the extra memory?

    thanks

Although valid for 24 hours, the deals are often repeated each week but on different days i.e. Monday one week, Tuesday the next.

7dayshop.com also do a 4gb SD card, for under 70 delivered :T I remember the days that you would pay that amount for a 512mb card!

    http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_6&products_id=101120&PHPSESSID=6098a0ec3915ed5a54efdb637051b709

...and as an afterthought, scan's onday only offers last all weekend, it must reffer to business days.

I remember paying more than that for 16k!
I still have an old "Byte" magazine with an advert for the first memory at below 1c per byte. At that rate 4GB would be over $40m so it does seem a good deal ;)
    Can I help?
