I am just looking at the completed job and I have to say, although its still wet it looks very good. My concern is that they may be being exploited. I paid the electrician...wonder how much they were getting.0

I was fitting some cellar flaps recently and 2 doors down was a tea room being renovated by and English company who employed foreign workers , they spent half the day walking to and from the shops and ages on mobile phones..... so there is a flip side...........
Glad your happy with the work.....0 -
OH works in construction (well, plumbing and heating) and when he's on site, he has a tea break about 10 (starts at about 7) for about 10 minutes, then a lunch break of half an hour about 1, then is home at 5. So a pretty long day, some days he's out longer, some days he has to eat on the go as he has to pick kit or parts up or go somewhere else to do a quick job. He's worked with a few foreign people, said one was useless as he didn't understand the simple instruction OH had given him (not to move stuff where he'd be working - guy had to move it all back anyway) and said some are fantastic - good work ethic - one of the guys at his company is Ukrainian, and he's damn good, whereas the Brit blokes fart about and do nothing. OH has a damn good rep, and will probably move to another company when he gets the offer (been given once, and is wanted by the company)** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.
