Moggins Flylady thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=213886
has been a huge help to me. My money worries mean that I get very tired with my depression and so don't keep up with the house. This often leads to take aways (expensive) and food thrown out(past BBE date). Another expense of not keeping on top of the house is that payments are missed (incurring late charges) and benefits not applies for/ cheques unbanked etc (or home grown lettuce killed because I didn't 'get around to' watering them).
My worst habit when the house is a mess is to go out and spend - partly because foolishly I think 'something nice' will miraculously transform the house, and partly to make me feel better. Thanks to that thread I've been so busy with this challenge this week that I've not had the time for that at all!!
Not only has the thread inspired me (and others) to tackle this, but it has also provided support and encouragement on a daily basis - and super cheap too! (If there are any OS'rs reading this, I got my white vinegar to try on that stinky loo today - fingers crossed!!!)
Kaz xJanuary '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far)
Someone burst my bubble and I lost the plot so no idea what I spent now...Other Jan :- Petrol £20.41, Clothes £8.50, House £3.I will try to work it out.

I know is getting a bit late to nominate, but this thread is outstanding!
She's struggling with personal & business debt, running her own business, coping with ex's antics, looking after DD etc, and all in her mid 20's. Actually, struggling is not the right word - she's coping admirably and she's an inspiration to all of us.
Interjected with that is her tales of her ex, and how she's selling his skulls on ebay (!!), it's better than a soap opera!!!!
And all written in a fantastically witty way, Hell, rather than post of the month we should be lobbying to get her a newspaper column!!!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I'd like to nominate this post for a number of reasons:
1. It's all very well saving money etc but if we are unaware of some virus/spyware that's going to try and nick a load of our money that's got to be more important - helping us keep the money we've got and not having loads of hassle if our passwords etc are compromised or money stolen.
2. I'd found the virus on my computer but had been unable to find out further info about it on Sophos or Grisoft's AVG sites. It was only when I read the post that I realised the how the virus worked and then took positive action to warn the person who infected us and the people who we might have infected.
3. I used the info in the post to put in an email so those people will now be aware of this website as well!
