I always think... if a company does something of its own accord and it makes a mistake, it's the company's problem that they don't have safeguards in place to stop it happening.

I wouldn't say anything, but don't complain if they do take the money.

Viper_7 is right though. The law does actually allow for genuine mistakes and it can be classed as fraud. That's quite important as not only are the company entitled to seek the money back through civil courts but you're liable for criminal prosecution as well. Also they have up to 6 years in which to find the mistake and claim back the money and possibly interest. There have been headline cases where "huge" mistakes in people's favour where the police and CPS definitely treated it as fraud and the principle is no different, merely the amount. I'm completely on Amazon's side here and the OP really should inform them. It should be at Amazon's discretion whether they let their "mistake" stand or not.

The thing is amazon's not going to take you to court, but they might take the money off your card so just keep that amount of money available for them to take... for 6 years :p

Amazon's customer service tends to be very good. In my experience they will go out of their way to remedy a customer complaint. It is very sad that people will take advantage of a retailers goodwill in this way.
