They'll probably remember and arrange a collection

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

I don't think they'll charge you for it (they could, but it's morally dubious).

Is the laptop you have now faulty as well?

So you have knowing made a profit out of someone elses error - fraud.

Of course they can claim it back.
If you point it out - they may give you a discount for being honest.
  • They can ask for the money back and or take it from your card
  • the laptop is not faulty i currently have, they exchangeed the one i had before for this current one and did it as a exchange. bt when i sent it back they refunded me for the return w/o realising i had a replacement.

how is it fraud as i am not intentionally stealing something or a service, its a mistake they made.

I'd let them know about their mistake.

Think of it the other way - if they'd charged you and not delivered an item, would you be happy? Would you let them get away with it?

  • So you are in credit through a mistake you acknowledge this

How would you feel if you paid for goods and didnt get them

They could chase you for the money if you refused to pay for up to 6 years so you may have that hanging over your head

It's a bit like an ATM spitting out £20s instead of £10.

    Yes it's their mistake.
However you know about the mistake and profited from it - this is Fraud.

Your example it would be difficult to show you knowingly saw you hadn't paid - especially if there was several instances of returned items, so they wouldn't come shouting Fraud at you - but they sure can come for the money.

My parents had a tent that they brought like this. They never told them got a free tent, but there ready to pay if they have too. Your laptop is a lot more money than there free tent though so i would play it safe and tell them my self.
