I have just chased them Smyths on the phone, after they didn't reply to my email. i have spoken to the customer services in Ireland and the store in Salisbury. They both say that the vouchers cannot be spent online. It will be a six hour round trip for us, has anyone got any ideas on what we can do????

Adam I know its not a great help but you can reserve you items online for a store collection. Is it worth doing a huge reservation & then making a day of it with your family?

Either that or do you have any family nearish a Smyths store that could collect your reserved goods & then organise delivery?

I really hope you get something sorted out, its a shame such a brilliant prize should cause you so much hassle.

Yeah i agree with rach29. £500 is a lot of money, I would try and make a day of it as it would be well worth it. Good Luck

See I would interpret 'spend how you like' as 'on whatever you want'. The T&Cs are not particularly clear but they say-

3) Prize
3.1 One winner will win £500 to spend in Smyths Toystore.

Notice that they've used the word 'in'.
Also they mention the West Midlands based branches in the comp text so I would be inclined to make sure that the vouchers are not just for those stores.

Smyths Toystore has just opened in Birmingham, it's in Castle Vale (not that's of any help to you). If you have a gift card I would say it's ok to use in any store. Hope you get it sorted x

Smyths do sell toys online for delivery though not sure if it cover all the range or selected items only. I would speak to customer services again see if they can help as cant see why they cant accept gift card payment

I agree with what others have said if you cant do online, check out what they sell online then make a day of it wish list in hand and head to the store - hope your car is big enough, have fun
